CAPPADOCIAN
‘Excavations in the long history of Cappadocia’
Carrying out a detailed investigation on the 5000 years old past
of this region in central Anatolia and setting out from the
traces of various prehistoric and historic cultures in the area,
the artist has reflected his own iconographic interpretation on
canvas, using current engraving methods, also as layered as the
theme itself. Symbolic images of Assyrian seals and inscriptions,
Hittite adornments, Persian reliefs, Roman and Byzantine icons,
Seljuq and Ottoman calligraphy and of course the exceptional
natural wonders like fairy chimneys are the thematic elements of
the “ CAPPADOCIAN” paintings which reflect a unique historical
and cultural heritage. |
